Showfriends LA (2016-2017)

The ShowFriends are a creative collaboration who have banded together to create, debate and generate original comedy content which delivers a satirical examination of key social issues, often poking fun at the entertainment industry itself.

Going home for the holidays can be tough for anyone. Now, imagine you're related to one of the most beloved (or hated) characters in the Galaxy and your parents can't stop praising them. STAR WARS: THE RELATED ONES dives into an "orphan holiday meal" with the siblings of four famous Star Wars supporting characters: Chewbacca, Darth Maul, Boba Fett and Jar Jar Binks.
Just in time for the Academy Awards - the newest in the online MasterClass series brings together the top seat fillers from the Tonys, Emmys, Golden Globes and Oscars sharing their secrets on not only how to properly fill a seat, but when!
The award winning BBC Series, "Planet Earth" has explored deserts, rainforests, mountains and with the latest installment, cities. Now, in this new parody of the nature docu-series, comes an in-depth look at the wildlife in a whole new jungle: HOLLYWOOD.
With the current trend of networks diving back into their vaults and rebooting and relaunching their successful shows from the past-- along with the drama of the current election, it seemed natural to combine the two in this timely parody - "The West Wing: Trump Years".

MY STORY BEHIND THE STORY

The very first creative/freelancing work I did when I first moved to Los Angeles was editing for the ShowFriends during 2016-2017. Fellow MSU Alum Jeff Witzke was kind enough to invite me to edit for their group and they were generous enough to allow me to continue as long as I was willing and able. Jeff, Michael, Tammy and Laura were great creative collaborators and were always so appreciative of my time.

Each of these sketches were featured on the front page of Funny or Die, including during the 2016 Presidential campaign, the 2017 Oscars and the release of The Last Jedi. MasterClass was also honored with an official selection at 2018 Hollywood Comedy Shorts Festival.
